About Slither.io

Slither.io brings a multiplayer snake arena about growth, spacing and head-to-body traps. Eat glowing orbs and force rival snakes into your body.

Speed boosts help intercept rivals but consume body length.

Your own body is safe to cross, but opponents can eliminate you by making your head touch theirs. That distinction turns body positioning into both a defensive wall and an offensive trap.

How to Play Slither.io

  1. Start as a small snake and eat glowing pellets to grow longer
  2. Keep your head clear of other snakes while using short boosts to reposition
  3. Cut across an opponent's line so their head hits your body
  4. Collect the dropped pellets and continue hunting from a safe angle

Tips & Tricks

  • Boost just long enough to cut in front of a rival's head, then release.
  • Do not steer your own head into another snake while setting up a trap.
  • Collect a defeated snake's pellets from the safer outside edge of the cluster.
  • Use the length of your body to close an escape route only after you can complete the turn.
  • Protect the head during crowded late-game movement rather than chasing every pellet.

FAQ

Why does boosting reduce your body length?

Boosting increases movement speed but spends a portion of your snake's body length.

How do you trap another snake without hitting its body?

Get your head in front of a rival's route so it runs into your body; do not steer your own head into another snake.

Does touching my own body end the run?

No. The dangerous collision is your head striking another snake's body.

How does a body trap work?

Move your head ahead of a rival so it hits your side.

Where should I collect food after a kill?

Approach the dropped pellets without putting your head in another snake's path.

When is a speed boost useful?

For brief interceptions or escaping immediate danger.

Why not boost continuously?

It consumes length and can reduce precise turning control.
